DTS owner password
Can i assign a owner password to a especified package
without recreating the package ?
Thanks a lot
MikeHI,
Open the Package and use the option SAVE AS and provide the Owner password.
In this case you will need to give a new name for this package.
Thanks

Open up the package and leave the window open. Then go back
to Enterprise Manager (with the package window still open)
and delete the package in Enterprise Manager. Now the
package will be available in memory from having the window
open but you will be able to Save As with the same name as
you just deleted the package in Enterprise Manager. Now go
back to the package window you have open and do the save as
with the password and you won't need to change the package
name.
In terms of the references to it, if you have any execute
package tasks that are calling this package, they will have
problems as the save as changes the GUID for the package
which is what the execute package tasks typically bind to in
referencing the other packages it executes.

DTS Import not working after SP3a upgrade
After installing SP3a (on PERSONAL & DEVELOPER edition) it will not
allow me to assign more than 125 fixed length column positions.
After hitting the Finish & OK button it just wipes out the column
settings.
I've reinstalled both Personal & Developer edition. DTS will allow
more than 125 prior to the service pack. You may be seeing a side effect of installing SP3 and the problem seen by
others after aplying this SP is here. There is a fix
814113 - FIX DTS Designer May Generate an Access Violation After You
Install SQL Server 2000 SP3
