DTS in 2005

Hi all,

im starting to look into upgrading our Sql Server 2000 servers to Sql Server 2005. We have several DTS Packages that we use to import records into certain databases. Some are automated, but the majority of them are not. All of them are pretty complex in the amount of steps and operations they have to go through. I thought i heard that DTS packages were not supported in Sql Server 2005 anymore and i was wondering if this was true? Will my DTS packages be rendered useless if i upgrade to Sql Server 2005.

Also if anyone has a link to an article or site that discusses upgrading to 2005 from 2000 that would be great!

TIA,

mcm

You need for a download of SQL Server Feature Pack:

http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?familyid=df0ba5aa-b4bd-4705-aa0a-b477ba72a9cb&displaylang=en

There, vocĂȘ find Microsoft SQL Server 2000 DTS Designer Components. With DTS Designer Components you can edit and maintain existing DTS packages, but its not magic. In most cases, you need rebuild the packages.

|||I have installed the pack and now im able to edit sql2000 dts packages.
